'Brick' and Mortar

Let's go over this one more time.  My username is MSGSlayer1 and for the past 3 days, I've been trying to fix a broken Playstation Portable I got months ago.

You know the rest: I replaced the screen, the buttons and the joystick.  Also got a battery cover and a charger and now it works.  But because a stripped screw raises the faceplace ever so slightly, the joystick's kaput.  This PSP can still play games, though, like the game that came with it . . .

Crazy Taxi: Fare Wars

Developed by Sniper Studios and SEGA, the PSP port bundles the first 2 Crazy Taxi games but besides a few challenges (which I almost couldn't access because of a flickering menu screen), I don't a see a big difference between them.

The goal is to drive as many customers to their destinations as possible before time runs out.

Though you can plow through almost anything in your way, it does slow you down.

Crazy Taxi is also available to download onto smart devices, the perfect place for the games' short play sessions.

Pokemon Gold (Game Boy Color)

Playing on and off over several months, I've caught all 3 of Johto's legendary beasts, defeated the Elite Four and started the postgame in Kanto.  This time around, after winning all of Kanto's gym badges, I'm currently leveling up my team for a rematch against trainer Red on Mt. Silver; the battle with his Snorlax was probably the longest I've ever had.

Catching Raikou was also a pain in the ass.  Lots of grinding, roaming and Poke Balls.

Anyone else tired of getting messages on their Pokegear?

After Johto, bringing my heavy hitters with me to Kanto made the postgame a breeze, with the Mt. Silver battle being the game's last true challenge.  Hopefully I can transfer some of my best Pokees to Pokemon Sword and Shield when they're released in November.

Splatoon 2 (Switch)

If the above pic isn't enough of a hint, I've partook in Splatoon 2's final online event.  That said, I had to join Marina's team on this one.  Though the event didn't go quite as the members of Team Order had hoped, the game itself still holds online matches.  This gives me yet another chance to finish all the crap I didn't finish because I kept playing online matches.

The goal of every 'Splatfest' has been to win as many matches as possible to score points for your chosen team, so I don't get why members of the same team were often pitted against each other.

Created for this very occasion, this new arena offered plenty of flat surfaces, perfect for players who like coloring areas with roller weapons.

On top of that, the arena also offered the chance to power up a special weapon that sprayed the area in ink.

And that's about it for now.  Realizing I've gone weeks without posting anything, I promise to post here as often as I can while updating my social media pages.  And I hope that you'll keep visiting this site as I continue to make my way to the TOP OF THE HEAP.  See you next time!

Pokemon Gold is available via download on Nintendo's eShop.
