3 Months to Kill (Myself)

In early October, taking a break from editing my most recent post, I've stepped out of my apartment and never came back.  That's cuz a freak accident landed me in the hospital and required surgery.  Though that went off without a hitch, I was looking a long recovery, which meant weeks away from home and my job.

With my smartphone, a nurse call button and not much else, I've spent this unexpected vacation catching up on my email, my living expenses and my mobile games.  And for the first time ever, I'm blogging away from home, without a keyboard.

Fire Emblem: Sword of Seals (GBA)

Continuing the adventures of Roy, of Smash Bros fame, and his motley crew across a war-torn continent, I've reached a point in the game (above) where I'm down to a handful of characters who haven't leveled up nearly enough to break through the hordes of enemies littering the map.  After several failed attempts to clear the level, I'm thinking of starting the whole thing over, if only to properly strengthen my army.  Even without the save feature on my emulator, I can always go back to my old game file.  And while we're on the subject of Fire Emblem . . .

Fire Emblem Heroes (Android)

Another day, another event, and another in-game item I likely won't use.  Because of data-management issues with my phone, I couldn't download the latest updates, meaning I couldn't play at all.  And that was due in part to my next game . . .

Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions (Android)

I've actually bought this for my phone about a year ago without ever touching it, and then deleted it for disc space.  Since then I've double-dipped on the PSP version to play on the Vita, triple-dipped on the original game for the PS1 and redownloaded this version just recently.  Deemed the worst version of FFT because of technical issues, I had no problem playing it the first few times.  Once the tutorials were outta the way, there was trouble navigating the isometric map but nothing that deters from gameplay.  FFT plays somewhat like Disgaea, but more meticulous.

Candy Crush Soda (Android)

I played this one a lot when I was hurting too bad to focus on other games.  Even when offline, the daily rewards and power-ups kept me playing for quite a while.  Typically, though, I landed the long combos after solving the puzzle.

Shonen Jump's One Piece (GBA)

Out of all the gaming handhelds I had lying around, my neighbor brought over my Game Boy Micro.  Not to sound ungrateful but without the Micro's proprietary charger, the battery eventually ran low.  So the Micro spent weeks stashed in my nightstand, for fear of losing my save file.  And just when I aced the level I was stuck on.

That about does it for this post.  Soon I'll be back home and back to typing about my backlog of stuff.  Till next time, Happy New Year!
